Ive been slacking....

I noticed that i had been slacking on posting pics lately.. So here is an update with a bunch of pics i took over the last few months. Off course the most featured subject is our precious miniman... But ive thrown in a cat, part of a tree and a goat for good measurement.. Enjoy! geitenboerderij34 IMG_5884 IMG_5849 IMG_5663 IMG_5278 IMG_5306 IMG_5128 IMG_5237 IMG_5074 IMG_5059 IMG_5105 (1) IMG_6461 Almost all pics taken with the Eos7D mk1/ 70-200mm F/2.8 MkII. Test shots..

Got the amazing 70-200mm L IS USM II last week... It is every bit as good as advertised. 31-05 3 30-05 2 Made these two collages with Diptic. A very nice tool for presenting your photos.

Lens test..

Went to the EOS lens discovery event in Rotterdam last week. Got a chance to play with the entire lens line-up that Canon has these days, and follow two workshops. One on wildlife photography and one one macro photography. Best of all; free of charge if you have an EOS camera. Came to the conclusion that i still missed one lens to complete my own set. The 70-200mm.. Picked it up this week, and, to coin a phrase.. im happier then a pig in sh*te. What an awesome piece of equipment.. See for yourself; IMG_1253 IMG_1430 IMG_1462 IMG_1069 IMG_1268 Ill be using this one a lot. I cant recommend it enough.

Re-shoot

We decided it would be fun to do some re-shoots of the pics we took during the 365 project. Just to keep us busy and to show how Mini-man has grown over the year. We chose this photo to re-shoot as nr 1. 13-07 Since Mini-man is in less then a cooperating mood when it comes to taking pics these days we resorted to bribery with some raisins, a scenery change and a move outdoors. It kinda worked. Here is the result; IMG_5556 That wasn't all we did today.... We went for an early morning walk in the Amsterdam Drinking Water dunes. Mini-man walked almost all the way with us. When he needed a rest we put him into his chariot..

IMG_5406

We did a quick snapshot shoot with him on a branch of dead wood;

During the walk we ran into this young buck fallow deer. An awesome specimen.

When you have something like this in your crosshairs, its when the investment in the 300mm F/2.8L pays off.

Another background

Got another lastolite colapsable! I think these things are awesome! IMG_5362 IMG_5365

A misschievous miniman posing in front of red brick plastered wall.

When used right these backgrounds are indistinguishable from the real thing.

Lastolite Urban Background

During our 365 project we sometimes struggled with getting a good background for the shots. We already had the Lastolite collapsible background in black and a white, but sometimes we wanted some more color.

Cue the Lastolite Urban Backgrounds.
brick wall_5711sm These come double sided urban-ish. I got the one with the red brick wall and the grey "castle" wall. The quality of the print is excellent. Especially with good light and a shallow depth of field these will look the real deal.

These come in very handy if you need a "rough" looking background and there are no abandoned buildings available..

Highly recommended!

Ordered via Art&Craft.be Good service, competitive prices. Also recommended! (Not affiliated.)

Review Tamrac 5793...

The super Telephoto Lens Pack.
The bag has one main compartment specifically for a large telephoto lens. (in case you were wondering about the name...)

On the sides there are two little pockets that will hold your phone, keys etc.. One of them holds the raincover.

It holds the 300mm F/2.8, ready for action, with ease. (Thats camera attached, lens hood fixed in proper position) IMG_2617

The stitching, zippers and velcro on this bag is what you can expect from Tamrac; High Quality.

The 300 with hood fixed and attached to the 7DIMG_2620

Depending on what lens you have you can adjust the inside of the 5793. There is a sturdy "neck-like" thingie that will hold your combo in place.

IMG_2622

One of the reasons i got this bag is that it will hold the 300 with the lens extenders attached.
IMG_2623
This is with the 2x MkIII extender attached. A very easy fit.

The bag is outfitted with Tamrac's Modular Accessory System. Since you get very little space in this bag for anything besides your lens i ordered some of the available attachments.
IMG_2630IMG_2631IMG_2632
I got the wide angle lens pouch, which i will use to carry the extenders in. Also got the water bottle pouch and a pouch that should hold the 100-400L, in case i want to bring it along.

IMG_2633
It comes with a raincover. Havent tried it yet with the Modular Attachments in place. That might be the tricky part. ;)
Overall i can highly recommend this bag. Its very well made, and works as advertised. And with the use of the M.A.S pouches, its very versatile too.

Here it is in action;
